• Avoid Sun exposure and/or using a tanning bed, including self-tanning products, for a minimum of 24 hours before and after the treatment – preferably one week before and after treatment. Treatment within 24 hours of prolonged sun exposure (natural sunlight, artificial tanning booth, or sunless tanning products) may result in hypopigmentation (white spots) or hyperpigmentation (dark spots) that may not clear for several months or may be permanent. AQUAGOLD micro-infusion and/or ‘the pink treatment’ will not be administered on sunburned skin.
• No area that is to be treated should receive any type of chemical peel or invasive skin treatments, including laser, for two weeks before or after treatment.
• Retin-A, Renova, and Tazorac must not be used for one week before or after treatment.
• The area to be treated must be clean and free of any lotion, makeup, and sunscreen. These must be completely washed off prior to treatment.
• Notify the provider of any tattoos, including cosmetic tattooing, in the vicinity of the areas to be treated, as tattoos must be avoided.
• During the course of your treatments, notify our staff of any changes to your medical history, health status, or personal activities that may be relevant to your treatment.
• Waxing and/or use of chemical depilatories must be avoided for two weeks prior to and after treatment.
• Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications 2-5 days prior to treatment. (Unless medically directed to take these by your GP or specialist). Medications such as Aspirin, Vitamin E, Omega 3/Fish Oil Supplements, Ibuprofen, Advil, and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising, bleeding and swelling after injections.
• Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you are feeling unwell or have an active infection in the treatment area.
• Avoid vigorous physical activity or any large intakes of alcohol 24 hours prior to your treatment, as this increases the risk of bruising.

• LED light therapy is highly recommended after microinfusion treatment and can be applied immediately after treatment to reduce bruising and promote healing. It can be added to your treatment for an additional cost.
• Post-procedure, there may be short-term Redness and swelling as the needling device causes microscopic wounds and creates an inflammatory reaction. This is a normal response to treatment and will subside
• Application of a cooling mask immediately post-treatment will assist in minimising redness faster; we recommend adding the ‘natural RX post-procedure mask’ to your treatment.
• A sunburn-like effect immediately post-treatment is normal. The treated area may appear red/pink in colour due to the natural inflammatory response but will resolve within 24 hours. The skin may feel tight, dry, swollen and sensitive to the touch.
• Do not wash your face for the first 6 hours. Wash the treated area gently with a gentle cleanser, and you may apply moisturiser (which does not contain “anti-aging” ingredients) thereafter. You may resume your normal daily skin routine the day after treatment.
• Sun exposure must be avoided for at least 24 hours after your treatment – preferably 1-2 weeks. If you know you will get incidental sun exposure; we recommend physical avoidance of the sun in all treated areas by using a protective hat and full-spectrum sunblock of SPF 30 or higher.
• Do not use exfoliating medications, chemicals, or products on the treated areas for at least 1week post-treatment.
• No exercise that causes sweating, sauna, or steam baths for at least 24 hours post-treatment.
• It is recommended that makeup not be applied for at least 12 hours post procedure. (unless using oxygenates) Oxygenetix oxygenating foundation is formulated for use post-procedure. Oxygenetix can be used immediately post-procedure to conceal any redness or bruising and to aid healing. (available to purchase in clinic)

• Arrive at your appointment make-up free. Avoid heavy exercise, drinking alcohol and smoking on the day of your appointment. Reschedule if you are feeling unwell.
• Ensure you have something to eat and drink prior to your appointment to decrease the chances of light-headedness and dizziness occurring during your treatment.

You may not be a candidate for AquaGold if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have open sores in the treatment area. Please inform the clinic if this is you.
