• Avoid Sun exposure and/or usage of a tanning bed, including self-tanning products, for a minimum of 24 hours before treatment – preferably one week before and after treatment. Treatment within 24 hours of prolonged sun exposure may result in hypopigmentation (white spots) or hyperpigmentation (dark spots) that may not clear for several months or may be permanent. SKIN PEN needling will not be administered on sunburned skin.
• No area to be treated should receive any chemical peel or invasive skin treatments, including laser, for two weeks before or after treatment.
• Retin-A, Renova, and Tazorac must not be used for one week before or after treatment.
• The area to be treated must be clean and free of any lotion, makeup, and sunscreen. These must be completely washed off prior to treatment.
• Notify the provider of any tattoos, including cosmetic tattooing, in the vicinity of the areas to be treated, as tattoos must be avoided.
• During the course of your treatments, notify our staff of any changes to your medical history, health status, or personal activities that may be relevant to your treatment.
• Waxing and/or use of chemical depilatories must be avoided for two weeks prior to and after treatment.
• Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications 2-5 days prior to treatment. (Unless medically directed to take these by your GP or specialist). Medications such as Aspirin, Vitamin E, Omega 3/Fish Oil Supplements, Ibuprofen, Advil, and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising, bleeding and swelling after injections.
• Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you are feeling unwell or have an active infection in the treatment area.
• Avoid vigorous physical activity or any large intakes of alcohol 24 hours prior to your treatment, as this increases the risk of bruising.

• Avoid sun exposure - your skin will be much more sensitive to the sun for several weeks after SkinPen microneedling. To prevent adverse effects, you must strictly avoid sun exposure on the day of your treatment as you will not have sunscreen on. You may return to sunscreen use 24 hours following the procedure. We do advise that you use sunscreen once your skin has healed to prevent unwanted pigmentation and sun damage. Continue To minimise sun exposure for 72 hours post-procedure.
• Don’t use skincare that contains active ingredients - skin needling Will leave your skin in a highly sensitive state. Avoid all skin products that contain any kind of "active ingredients'' such as retinol, alpha hydroxy acids and vitamin C. You can incorporate these products back into your regime five days post-treatment.
• Avoid sweating and makeup for 24 hours - don't apply any makeup for at least 24 hours post-treatment (unless using oxygenates) to allow your skin barrier to heal and reduce the risk of infection. Skin Needling causes heat in the skin as a natural stage of healing. If you sweat or partake in activities that make you hot, it will create further unwanted heat in the skin; it may also allow bacteria to penetrate the skin, which can lead to infection, extended redness or an adverse skin reaction.
• AVOID ANY ADVANCED SKIN TREATMENTS, ANTI-WRINKLE, FILLER OR COSMETIC INJECTABLE PROCEDURES 2 WEEKS BEFORE OR AFTER YOUR SKIN NEEDLING SESSION.

• Arrive at your appointment make-up free. Avoid heavy exercise, drinking alcohol and smoking on the day of your appointment. Reschedule if you are feeling unwell.
• Ensure you have something to eat and drink prior to your appointment to decrease the chances of light-headedness and dizziness occurring during your treatment.

• Day 1: Expect redness and slight swelling, feeling like mild sunburn; apply LIFT HG as needed. Avoid washing or using products for 24 hours. Consider LED red light therapy for reduced bruising and swelling. Oxygenetix foundation is safe for immediate use.
• Day 2: Start applying RESCUE Calming Complex after 24 hours to soothe the skin. Keep skin hydrated; use facial sunscreen after 24 hours.
• Day 3-4: Skin may become dry and flaky; avoid picking. Apply moisturiser or calming complex twice daily. Use facial cleanser for gentle exfoliation on Day 3.
