• Schedule your appointment at least four weeks prior to a special occasion or event, such as a wedding or a vacation, due to the risk of bruising and swelling post-treatment (generally subsides within two weeks but can last up to 4)
• Arnica tablets can be taken one week prior to your treatment if you wish to help prevent and minimise bruising post-treatment.
• Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications at least 5-7 days prior to treatment. (Unless medically directed to take these by your GP or specialist). Medications such as Aspirin, Vitamin E, Omega 3/Fish Oil Supplements, Ibuprofen, Advil, and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising, bleeding and swelling after injections.
• Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you are feeling unwell or have an active infection.
• Avoid vigorous physical activity or any large intakes of alcohol 24 hours prior to your treatment, as this increases the risk of bruising.

• Avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for 24 hours post-treatment.
• Avoid rubbing/touching the treated area until the morning after treatment.
• No Javaslim treatment two weeks before and after COVID-19 vaccination.
• Immediately after treatment, ice or a cold compress can be applied to the area treated to reduce pain and swelling, continuing as required for the first 48 hours.
• Do not take blood thinners or anti-inflammatories such as Aspirin, Nurofen, or Vitamin E for 24 hours after treatment.
• Panadol can be taken for any pain or discomfort.
• Massage the area that was treated for 5 x minutes, 5 x a day, for 5 x days, to enhance even spreading of PTC.
• Continue exercise and normal activities after 24 hours.
• Report increasing pain, redness, signs of infection or ulcer.
• Drink lots of fluids, such as water, for the first 48 hours after treatment.
• You cannot have dermal filler for two weeks post-Juvaslim treatment.
• Oxygenetix oxygenating foundation is formulated for use post-procedure. Oxygenetix can be purchased in clinics and can be used immediately post-procedure to conceal any redness or bruising and aid healing.
• Post-treatment side effects of javaslim treatment include pain, redness, itchiness, numbness, moderate swelling and discomfort at the injection site. This is a normal response and is only temporary, it's the body's natural reaction to the broken down fat cells and rejecting them so they are expelled permanently. Generally, the swelling and discomfort will subside within two weeks but can last up to 4. Small lumps may occur during this time and massaging will help them subside.

• Arrive at your appointment make-up free. Avoid heavy exercise, drinking alcohol and smoking on the day of your appointment. Reschedule if you are feeling unwell.
• Ensure you have something to eat and drink prior to your appointment to decrease the chances of light-headedness and dizziness occurring during your treatment.

You ARE NOT a candidate for this treatment if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have Diabetes with microangiopathy, have serious cardiac renal or liver disease, Obesity, have unreal expectations, have blood disorders or are on Warfarin, or have an allergy to soybeans. Have an active infection, take a course of antibiotics, are flying overseas within 2 weeks post-treatment, or have an uncontrolled medical condition. You also MAY NOT be a candidate for this treatment if you are taking NSAIDs such as aspirin, fish oils and Vit E. A thorough consult will be conducted prior to treatment to ensure suitability.

Every patient undergoes a thorough assessment by nurse Maddy-Jane to determine the suitability of the treatment. Once approved, the treatment area undergoes icing, and a local anaesthetic is administered. The fat dissolving enzyme is then inserted into the targeted area, leading to noticeable swelling immediately after the procedure, lasting 2-4 days as a positive indicator of the treatment's progression. It's crucial for patients to avoid medications that reduce swelling during this period. Alongside swelling, mild pain and bruising may occur, persisting for several weeks, and patients can take Panadol for relief. A few days off work are recommended for a smooth recovery from the treatment.
