Frequently Asked Questions
- Avoid shaving underarms 24 hours before the appointment. (Shaving can cause micro-tears on the skin that cause irritation)
- Avoid using deodorant 24 hours before the appointment. (Deodorants contain compounds that block the pores and prevent them from releasing sweat and may prevent the toxin from doing its job efficiently)
- Patients should immediately go home after the procedure and should avoid exercise to prevent sweat from being produced. (Sweat in the injected areas can prevent the toxin from taking effect properly). Applying a cold compress post-treatment can also help prevent sweat from building up in those areas.
- Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications 5-7 days prior to treatment. (Unless medically directed to take these by your GP or specialist). Medications such as Aspirin, Vitamin E, Omega 3/Fish Oil Supplements, Ibuprofen, Advil, and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising, bleeding and swelling after injections.
- Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you are feeling unwell or have an active infection.
- Avoid vigorous physical activity or any large intakes of alcohol 24 hours prior to your treatment as this increases the risk of bruising.
- Following your treatment, don't apply pressure to the area or rub/ touch or massage it for at least 8 hours, and keep the arm area clean
- Do not go swimming for at least 24 hours post-treatment
- Do not take vitamin E, aspirin, or consume alcohol for 24 hours post-treatment
- Do not apply deodorant or antiperspirant for treatments under the arms until the morning following treatment.
- Do not shave your underarms for at least 24 hours post-treatment
- Avoid any extreme temperatures for the next 24 hours
- Any immediate redness or swelling response is normal and will generally subside within an hour.
- Rarely, patients may develop mild bruising and or sensitivity around the injection site. This will resolve within the first week after treatment.
- Do not go to the gym for 48 hours following your treatment or undertake any strenuous physical activity.
- If mild pain is experienced in the injection sites, taking a pain reliever may help relieve the tenderness and pain.
- Avoid taking any blood thinning medications, including aspirin, ibuprofen and fish oils, for 48 hours post-treatment. Paracetamol is recommended for any discomfort.
- Avoid any underarm hair removal procedures such as laser or electrolysis for at least two weeks post-treatment.
- Patients can typically see a reduction in sweat produced in about 2 to 4 days after the treatment. However, the full effect of the treatment can be seen 2 to 3 weeks post-procedure. Hyperhidrosis treatment generally lasts six months.
- Arrive at your appointment with clean, product-free underarms with no antiperspirant.
- Avoid heavy exercise, drinking alcohol and smoking on the day of your appointment. Reschedule if you are feeling unwell.
- Please wear loose and comfortable clothing to prevent rubbing and chafing
- Make sure to clean the area with soap and water right before leaving the house to go to the appointment.

Many individuals observe a decrease in sweat within one week, although, in some cases, it may take up to 14 days for optimal results to manifest. The effects commonly endure for over 6 months, particularly for most individuals, while first-time recipients usually enjoy results for at least 4 months, with potential extension in subsequent treatments.
This straightforward procedure involves defining and marking the area of sweating, often following the outline of hair-bearing or ex-hair-bearing areas. Anti-sweating solutions are then precisely administered, usually totaling 15 to 25 times. The sensation is similar to an ant bite, and the entire process is completed in just 90 seconds. It's that simple!
Highly effective! In addressing underarm excessive sweating, we anticipate an impressive efficacy rate of 96%, with the potential for this treatment to completely halt sweating in most cases.
