To achieve optimal results and healing, it is recommended to do pre-peel skin preparation with the Aspect Dr Starter Kit at least two weeks prior to treatment.

One week Before:

• Stop using any products containing retinol or vitamin A
• Avoid waxing, electrolysis, hair removal creams and laser hair removal treatments to the area
• Avoid sun exposure, including tanning beds
• Don't have any other facials or peels

• Aftercare depends on the level and severity of the peel and the individual's skin.
• Typically, we recommend that clients to use gentle products on their skin for 5-7 days following their treatment.
• We encourage using SPF and reapplying it every 2-3 hours. After this, clients are encouraged to return back to their normal skincare routine.
• Days 1-3 post peel: Avoid extreme temperature exposure to the face. Avoid activities like direct exposure to the sun, cooking over a hot stove, sitting near a fire, saunas or swimming.
• We also recommend avoiding intense exercise for 24 hours post-treatment. On the 3rd day, when the skin is finished flaking, you may continue your regular skincare routine.

• Don't use any products on your face containing alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), Beta hydroxy acid (BHA) or benzoyl peroxide
• Stop any exfoliating products that may be drying or irritating
• Men are not recommended to shave on the day of treatment

• You may feel flushed or appear red immediately following the peel, which may persist for 24 hours. This is sometimes associated with minor swelling, but not always. Frosting (a transient white discolouration) may persist for 24 hours.
• You may experience some skin peeling or mild flaking over the next 2 to 7 days, depending on the type of peel applied. Generally, the Lactobotanical peels at lower strength (20% to 30%) will involve only minor flaking at worst.
• Other more powerful peels may involve slightly more shedding for a week or so. However, not everyone will peel significantly. This does not mean the treatment is ineffective.
• The peel is a vehicle to deliver active ingredients to your skin, as well as light exfoliation! Even so, for more powerful peels, treatment planning is important until you are aware of how you react to your treatment. Prepping your skin pre-peel is very important to minimise your recovery time.

Please advise Maddy-Jane of any regular medications you are taking if you are taking any of the following: Accutane, Retin-A or chemotherapy, then you are not a suitable candidate for this treatment. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an allergy to aspirin or nuts, have sunburnt skin, cold sores, active rashes (including rosacea) or serious medical conditions affecting the heart or immune system, then we recommend that you get in touch prior to your appointment as you also may not suitable for this treatment.

For best results its recommended to do a course of at least 3 treatments, results will continue to improve after each treatment. You may notice improvement in your skin tone and texture post treatment but full results and effects of the chemical peels will be seen at 5-7 days after treatment. 

For best results it is generally recommended to have an initial course of 4- 8 chemical peels spaced 2-4 weeks apart,  then maintenance peels as required which will depend on the type of peel, the extent of the concerns we are addressing and individual factors.
