• Schedule your appointment at least two weeks prior to a special occasion or event, such as a wedding or a vacation, due to the risk of bruising and swelling post-treatment.
• Arnica tablets can be taken one week prior to your treatment if you wish to help prevent and minimise bruising post-treatment.
• Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications 5-7 days prior to treatment. (Unless medically directed to take these by your GP or specialist). Medications such as Aspirin, Vitamin E, Omega 3/Fish Oil Supplements, Ibuprofen, Advil, and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising, bleeding and swelling after injections.
• If you have a history of cold sores and are having injectable treatment around the mouth area, we recommend taking antiviral tablets either the day prior to treatment or on the day of treatment to reduce the chances of you developing a cold sore post-treatment. (These can be purchased over the counter at a pharmacy/chemist with no script usually required).
• Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you feel unwell or have an active infection.
• Avoid vigorous physical activity or any large intakes of alcohol 24 hours prior to your treatment, as this increases the risk of bruising.

• Immediately following your Filler Dissolving treatment, there may be moderate swelling (particularly in the lips), tenderness and slight redness, pink prick marks and bruising present. This is a normal response and may be more prominent the day after treatment but should settle within a few days. Bruise-eze cream can be applied to help the healing process and is available to purchase in the clinic. If desired, apply ice for the first hour after treatment for ten minutes on and ten minutes off.
• LED light therapy can be added to your treatment to accelerate your healing, minimise your downtime and enhance your results. Infrared Red LED light therapy is available in the clinic and can be added to your treatment for an additional cost.
• DO NOT rub, massage, or apply pressure to the treated area 24 hours post-appointment, as this can undesirably displace the material. When cleansing your face or applying make-up, use gentle, sweeping motions to avoid excessive mobility of the area treated.
• Avoid applying makeup to the treated area for 24 hours post-treatment unless using Oxygenetix. Oxygenetix oxygenating foundation is the only foundation safe to use directly post-injectable treatment and is known for its ability to accelerate wound healing while also covering up the signs of treatment. (Oxygenetix is available to purchase in the clinic)
• AVOID strenuous exercise, alcohol and smoking for 24 hours post-appointment. Sunbathing and extremes of heat or cold should be avoided for 14 days post-treatment. These activities have been found to increase and prolong swelling. You may resume other normal activities/routines immediately.
• For 14 days following treatment, AVOID facial massaging, micro needling, microdermabrasion, laser and radio frequency treatments.
• You may take panadol if you experience any mild tenderness or discomfort. AVOID aspirin or ibuprofen products as they may increase your potential to bruise.
• As a consequence of swelling and the action of the hyaluronidase, you may notice some asymmetry. This will improve and the final result is usually not seen until the 2 week mark. If there is still asymmetry present, this can be reviewed at your 2-week follow-up appointment.
• Please contact Aesthetics by Maddy-jane if redness, tenderness, itching or swelling worsens after three days, rather than settling.

• Arrive at your appointment make-up free. Avoid heavy exercise, drinking alcohol and smoking on the day of your appointment. Reschedule if you are feeling unwell.
• Ensure you have something to eat and drink before your appointment to decrease the chances of light-headedness and dizziness during your treatment.

You ARE NOT a candidate for this treatment if you have a severe allergy to bee stings, are pregnant, breast feeding, have open sores in the treatment area. Have an active infection, taking a course of antibiotics, are flying overseas within 2 weeks post treatment, have an uncontrolled medical condition including but not limited to, diabetes and blood clotting disorders. If this is you please inform the Nurses prior to your treatment.

If you are unhappy with the dermal filler treatment you have received elsewhere, we generally recommend going back to the clinic where you were originally treated for removal. However, if you would prefer us to do it, we can help. Please contact us if this is you prior to the appointment, as we will need to gain information from your previous practitioner.

The filler will start to break down immediately although depending on the location and how much needs to be dissolved, it may take up to 48 hours to see the full effects. You may require a further session or 2 to completely dissolve the filler. This can be repeated. Filler dissolving can be repeated. It is recommended to have a follow up appointment within a week after your initial appointment to see if another round is needed. The effects of filler dissolving are permanent. We recommend waiting at least 2-4 weeks post Filler dissolving before adding back filler to the area.
